Love Triangle

My name is Jane Lexington. I live with my mom and dad, I’m the only child, and I’m in seventh grade. I have two friends, Kelli and Jessi Hale, they know all my secrets. They know one major secret that nobody, not even my parents, knows. The major secret is I have a crush on a boy in our grade, Landon.

Landon is a tall, kind-hearted thirteen year-old male. We have so many things in common; we love school, care about nature, and are very close to our family and friends. Kelli says she heard him tell one of his friends that he had a crush on me ever since the beginning of the year. Landon is an angel sent from heaven.

Kelli and Jessi are twin sisters. They live with their mother and their three brothers. Kelli is the youngest of all her siblings. Jessi is barely older by four minutes. Their personalities are about the same. They love school, have a crush on the same two guys, John and Kevin Harley, and are my best friends. Kelli, Jessi, and I always share our deepest secrets with each other.

John and Kevin are twins also. They’re friends with Landon and live with their father and two sisters.  Kevin is older than John by three and a half minutes. Kevin and John have completely different personalities, which really turn on the Hale twins. Kevin has a crush on Kelli Hale, everybody knows it but the Hale twins, hates to read non-fiction books, and loves to help solve people’s problems. John has a crush on Jessi, again everybody knows besides the Hale twins, loves non-fiction books, and hates when people try to tell him about their problems.

Yesterday was the first day back from summer vacation. Last year every girl in the sixth grade tried out for cheerleading and Kelli, Jessi, Katelyn Johnson, Lexi Livingston, and I made it along with some present eighth graders.  Landon, John, Kevin, James Hills, Logan Johnson, and Fred Harrison are on the football team with present eighth graders. Since it is the beginning of the year that means football season is coming up. I can’t wait till the first football game so I can show off my cheer moves.

Well since it was the first day of school we got our seating arrangements. The Hale twins and I were happy where we were assigned our seats in every class. In every class Kelli was seated next to Kevin, Jessi was seated in front of John, and I was seated behind Landon. We felt like every class was our personal heaven on earth.

When lunch came the three of us sat at our usual table in the top left corner of the cafeteria, across from Landon, Kevin, and John. We call our table “the view”. I’m pretty sure you know why we call it the view.

The first football game was today and that night I was kind of embarrassed because me in a skirt is not a very comfortable feeling. When we boarded back on the bus I was caught off guard by a hand holding my arm. When I turned around I saw Landon.

“Jane can I borrow you for a second?” He asked very politely.

“Sure Landon what do you need?”

“Jane ummm I just wanted to tell you that you looked good cheering out there,” he said blushing.

“Thanks I guess,” I said blushing too.

When I turned to the bus he turned me around and kissed me on my cheek. I almost fainted in surprise. He just stood there smiling and blushing. When I got on the bus I told Kelli and Jessi what had happened and they just sat there staring at me with their mouths opened.

The next morning was kind of awkward because Landon was sitting in front of me in every class. Every time I looked at him I just kept thinking of the kiss he planted on my cheek.

At the end of school I saw Landon waiting in front of my locker with a smirk on his face.

“Landon what are you doing here?”

“Jane I came to walk you home from school.”

I felt kind of awkward. What would I tell my parents when I come home with a guy with me?

This went on till the end of the year. The more time we spent together the closer and closer we got. Pretty soon we started dating. Then we got John and Jessi together, and Kevin and Kelli. I guess all of us friends are just one big love triangle.

Future—all of us in the Love Triangle are twenty seven. Landon and I have two children, Kyle and Jackie who are twins. Jessi and John have triplets, John Jr., Lexi, and Jenney. Kelli and Kevin have one son, Kevin Jr.
